Taste, vitality and integrity lead the way - the new FoodfromFinland
service markets Finnish food industry expertise.
Finfood - Finnish Food Information is launching the FoodfromFinland online service
to raise the pace in the rapidly growing Finnish food export sector and enhance
international marketing.
Finnish food will gain a new outlet for international communication when
Finfood - Finnish Food Information launches the FoodfromFinland (3F) online
service as a food industry marketing channel. FoodfromFinland will spread
information about Finnish food to Russia, the Baltic States, Sweden, Germany
and Poland. Communications will be directed at the media and corporate
customers. Marketing will be conducted through the website, newsletters and via
event marketing practices. FoodfromFinland is funded by the food industry, the
Sitra (Finnish Innovation Fund) Food and Nutrition Programme (ERA), and the
Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
"Finnish food exports hit a record high in 2006, and companies have
invested heavily in the Baltic Sea home market. Finland can offer its
international trading partners high quality products and acclaimed special
expertise. You'll find the Finnish food industry has a lot to say once we get
the communication tools up and running," says Tiina Lampisjärvi, Executive
Director of Finfood.
Tasty and straightforward food - Smart food
Marketing efforts will bring out three special strengths of Finnish food:
tastiness, product qualities that support well-being, and straightforward
national cuisine. The marketing messages' goal is to make Finnish food stand
out in the target markets and to build the image of Finnish food in the long
run. The service also supports the goals of Sitra's ERA programme to advance
the industry's opportunities for internationalisation. "The 3F service is
a channel for commercialisation. In an attractive fashion it brings out the
Finnish expertise in 'smart food', functional foods," says Anu Harkki,
Executive Director of Sitra's Food and Nutrition Programme.
FoodfromFinland's start-up partners are Valio, Vaasan & Vaasan, Snellman,
Saarioinen, Polar Shiitake Paulig, Myllyn Paras, Maustaja and Halva. The
service offers a communication channel not just for the food industry
companies, but also for expert organisations and other stakeholders close to
the industry.
Vaasan & Vaasan Oy has co-operated with Finfood in developing the
website since the project started. In addition to company
information, information can be found about grains in
general alongisde crispbread as a product. There are also recipes for
crispbread and thin crisps. Director Magnus Johanson expects the 3F-website
to effect on FINN CRISP sales. "The website provides excellent
publicity for the FINN CRISP brand and contributes for new
openings among new potential customers, making them aware of our
wonderful products".
