The promising results achieved in the Nordic rye research projects have
increased interest in rye and its health effects. Research institutes also
outside Northern Europe are joining the network of rye researchers.
The network of rye researchers is wide and it is growing all the time. The
most important research partners of Vaasan & Vaasan are the following
Finnish organisations:
·
Folkhälsan, professor Herman Adlercreutz
·
VTT Biotechnology
·
University of Kuopio, Food and Health Research Center
In 1999 The Nordic Rye Research Group published a book called “Rye:
Nutrition, Health and Functionality”. It was published in connection with the
Nordic project "Rye and Health". Research on rye and its health
effects is actively going on, and a lot of new evidence about the health
effects has been achieved. All the latest research results have been collected
to a separate web site: rye.vtt.fi. Both the Rye and Health –book and rye.vtt.fi
-web site are edited by Ms.Tarja Kujala, Research and Development Manager of
Vaasan & Vaasan.
