VAASAN Corporate Responsibility

Corporate responsibility has always been one of the VAASAN Group’s values, and we have put in a lot of work over the years to improve things such as the high nutritional value of our products, food safety, the environmental aspects of our operations, and the well-being of our personnel.

The VAASAN corporate responsibility programme, launched in 2011, is intended to ensure that sustainable development is promoted more systematically and in a more target-driven way across the entire VAASAN Group. Our programmes dedicated to nutrition, health, the environment, and product safety – together with our transparent and responsible supply chain and our well-being at work initiatives – form the core of VAASAN’s approach to corporate responsibility.

Responsible operations involve everyone at VAASAN. We also focus on developing employees’ job satisfaction and their skills, and ensuring a smooth return to work after an extended period away resulting from sickness or other reasons.

In practice, VAASAN’s corporate responsibility programme is closely linked to the work we do in developing and producing great-tasting wholegrain and high-fibre products for our customers. Like product wastage and waste.

We know where our raw materials come from and contribute to the safety of the entire production chain from the farmer’s field to the consumer’s table.

We constantly improve our food safety-related practices and procedures.

We have set both Group-wide and unit-specific targets for our corporate responsibility-related work, and group senior management monitors how we are performing and developing in these areas.

FIBS

VAASAN Oy is a member of Finnish Business & Society ry (FiBS). Established in 2000, FIBS is an enterprise network that was established in 2000. Its mission is to promote financially, socially and ecologically sustainable business in Finland.
