Salaries, remunerations and working hours

Salaries and remunerations in VAASAN are based on particular policies applied to different groups of personnel. The policies are based on the collective labour agreements and take into account requirements of different tasks, expertise and skill assessments. In addition, VAASAN applies a performance-based pay which is specific to a particular task and location. The content of these policies is agreed once a year and they include personal and group targets.

In November, VAASAN launched a trial concerning working hours which was approved by the hours working group of the Finnish Food and Drinks Industries’ Federation and the Finnish Food Workers’ Union. The working hours model concerning production workers allowed a more even distribution of working hours in bakeries within a longer time period. This agreement was a significant step towards more local agreements and was also the first one of its kind in the field of Finnish bakery. In the spring of 2010, the collective labour agreement concerning bakery employees included a similar inter-union agreement concerning average working hours.
